THE GINANNI PROJECT -
Our
club's long term restoration of a 1929 Ford Model AA truck. The truck was donated to our club in early 1993 by
Cecil and Billie Ginanni, who live south of Carlsbad.
Cecil's father purchased
the truck new in 1929 for the sum of $500.00. It
was used primarily as a farm utility vehicle for a number of years.
Although, Cecil did report of some courting that took place in the
truck.
Some thirty years
ago Cecil decided to restore the well worn truck and began to
dismantle it. His project soon stalled
and was placed on hold. We aquired it some time later in
numerous pieces.
To date, we have
restored the frame and all powertrain components. Our efforts now are
channeled on towards the body and bed restoration. No expected
completion date is predicted, as we work on it when time and funds are
available.

From early Ford
advertising.........
The Ford Truck - The
owners of Ford trucks, everywhere, have found that Ford economy goes
far beyond the saving in first cost alone. Fine materials,
precision workmanship, and simplicity of construction increase the
reliability of Ford units, helping to keep them out of the shop, and
on the job. During months of constant use, and thousands of miles of
service, their low cost of up-keep becomes a saving of first
importance.
Another economical feature of the Ford
is the ease with which adjustments or repairs are made. In every
locality, there is a nearby Ford dealer who gives prompt and efficient
service, at low cost. Because of this, Ford units are seldom idle when
there is hauling to be done.
Every day, throughout the country, Ford
trucks and delivery cars are serving a large number of businesses.
There is a type specifically adapted for every hauling-purpose.
The ford 1 1/2 ton truck is available
with 131 1/2-inch or 157-inch wheelbase, single or dual rear wheels,
high or low rear-axle gear-ratios, open or closed cabs, and with a
comprehensive range of bodies.
The light delivery-car, which has the
same chassis as the Model A Ford car, can be equipped with bodies to
suit any light hauling requirement.
Your Ford dealer can show you a unit
that will do your hauling economically. In New York, Philadelphia,
Boston, Detroit, Dallas, and Los Angeles, there are complete Ford
commercial exhibits.
